  • SWM 8 max

Looking for Help. I am trying to find out whats the max number of tuners u can run off of a swim 8. I know u can run 8 tuners on the swim side, but my question is if you have all of those 8 occupied and u run 2 lines from the legacy side to a 6x8 can u use all 8 ports on the 6x8.(I know they have to be legacy recievers on the 6x8). Therefore can u run 16 tuners 8 swim compatible and 8 non swim compatible.

Also I heard u can cascade to swim 8 with powerpassing splitters is that true.

    I appreciate any help.

I don't think you can cascade anything with SWM. You can split before the SWM (carefully) but a SWM can't take a SWM signal as an input.

You can do two legacy port lines to a 6x8, but only for legacy, non-HD programming.
    Been here a long time . . .

probablly you can run as many times as you split to what ever type of switches you use .... but using only 2 lines you will probably only get the 101 sat

Thanks for the help guys. Right now I'm running 11 and was wondering could I push the legacy side more. But I guess I'll not to get a swim 16 just not in budget.
