swm install

I am going to install a swm8 with a one to four splitter. I currently have
1 dvr - HR21-100 and 1 sd receiver. I need to add another receiver to addition to house. The dvr has 2 wires now, do I just use one of the wires from the swm to the dvr now? Do I have to reconfigure the dvr to work with the swm? Thanks

Yes, you can use one wire, and yes, you need to reconfigure the DVR. Usually, just pressing the red reset button will reconfigure it automatically for you.
