  • SWM8 and OTA Signal

I am currently using a Zinwell 6x8 and am contemplating going to SWM to use an HR24, 3 H24's and an H25. I did a trial run with the SWM8 to make sure everything would work before I finalized my decision. I currently have a dedicated line for the OTA and use an AM-21. The signal is fine. When I tried it with the SWM8 and combined the OTA signal through one line the OTA signal was grately degraded and lost on some channels. I used a green label, two way splitter to split the two signals before going into the AM-21 and H24. I think this might have been the wrong splitter to use. Should I have used a diplexer instead? Also, the SWM8 was REALLY hot, is this a normal operating temperature?

Yes, you must use a SWM diplexer after the SWM, not a conventional splitter and not a conventional diplexer. See:

You can find SWM specs there as well.
