  • SD-H400 Upgrade Kit Questions

    Hi

    I have a Toshiba SD-H400. It's finally died, I think.

When I start the unit, I get the "Welcome, Powering Up...." screen. It lasts about a minute, then it reboots.

I'm fairly sure it's a hard drive problem. It's the original drive and it's very old.

Now I'd like to buy one of the replacement drives for the SD-H400. Here's my question.

I see that there's mention of a SATA/IDE adapter cable on the site. I'd be very interested in running a SATA drive in my SD-H400 instead of IDE. Has this configuration been tested with the WK replacement drives? If I buy the kit, and the unit still doesn't boot, will the new drive be returnable?

    Thanks for any replies!

Yes, it's tested with that unit very fully, and yes, it's returnable with a restocking fee within 30 days.

Your symptoms do sound almost definitely like hard drive failure.
