i just did the option#3 backup and reinstalled the new drive back into tivo (philips series 1). It starts up in the "your recorder is starting up. please wait a moment..." screen then after about 15 seconds, it goes to the "almost there. a few more seconds please"..then 15 seconds more and its back to the "your recorder..." screen...this was the same problem with my old tivo harddrive. is it corrupt software? what kind of solutions are there thanks.
