  • Upgrade successful; stuck on dial-up!

    Just replaced my R-10 drive with a new one via Weaknees. All went well. Excellent instructions. Many thanks. I'm now unable to "Connect to DirecTV" via my phone line as it get stuck on the "Update Numbers" screen in search of a local number for dial-up. Any suggestions? No dial-up = no recordings!

    Problem solved. Read an old forum thread and solved my problem. Weaknees knows Tivo better than Tivo knows Tivo! Thanks again.

      Can you tell us what did the trick? Slowing down the modem maybe?

        The key was to "turn off dial tone detection and phone available detection," which were both set to the default of "on." Here's the link to the old thread. http://www.wkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=564
