    I have a Phillips Directv Tivo mod#DSR6000r01, that I have not been using for some time now. I want to try to upgrade it and I have several questions.
    Can I keep the hard drive that is in it and just add a second HD?
    The HD that I want to add is a Western Digital, WD Caviar 25100 40 gb. Is there any reason that this hd will not work?
    Using this model is there any way to add networking capabilities to it?
    And could someone please guide me to the easiest instructions on how to go about doing this? Thanks!

    Yes, you can keep the existing drive, but we don't recommend it in a unit that old. See:

    A 40GB PATA drive should work as an additional drive, when programmed properly.
